UA Local 38 -Application Period for Apprentice

UA Local 38 SF logo$28/hr with full benefits. No experience needed. Apply Tuesday, May 29 through Wednesday, June 7 from 9 am to 12 pm for the SF Plumbers & Pipefitters apprenticeship. Earn equitable wages and benefits with the guys! This is a earn while you learn opportunity in the 5-year apprenticeship of SF Local 38: Attend classes in SF, earn college credit, and get paid to learn your trade working on construction sites as a plumber/pipefitter apprentice. Current hourly rate upon completing the 5-year apprenticeship is $70/hr.

Test on Thursday, June 7 – good high school math for this test. See test announcement for details and follow exactly as stated.

About

SFPUC Workforce & Economic Programs Bureau is part of the PUC’s Infrastructure Division which is responsible for the modernization and upkeep of the vast water systems improvement program (WSIP), and water delivery from the Sierra Mountains to SF and Peninsula and the City’s sewer system improvement system program (SSIP). 

The Workforce & Economic Programs Bureau leverages the two Improvement programs to fund specialized training which provide employment opportunities to residents throughout the PUC’s service delivery territory.

Through partnerships with community organizations, local government agencies, Oakland Tradeswomen Inc., the San Francisco Construction and Building Trades Council, unions and contractors, the PUC is expanding its’ endeavors to engage large numbers of women to enter the construction trades and prosper from the middle class jobs that union trades provide.
